Probabilistic modeling and reliability-based design optimization of a ground source heat pump system

The optimization design of a ground source heat pump (GSHP) system can be crucial in improving its performance and economic competitiveness. effect probabilistic uncertainties variables GSHP was analyzed using reliability-based (RBDO) method. An analytical borehole transfer model selected as the frame energy simulation this work. With goal to minimize cumulative costs over 20-year lifespan system, non-linear carried out under three constraint factors imposed on internal flow exchanger: inlet water temperature, pressure losses Reynolds number ensure turbulent flow. Three including depth boreholes, pipe radius mass rate, two random at installation site, groundwater velocity thermal conductivity were considered investigation. Different uncertainty levels assigned into probability indexes all five variables, which studied multiple reliability constraints. Results showed that strongly affect total cost determination. compromised increment discussed, optimal combinations (borehole depth, rate) also given different designing scenarios.
